1960s Palm Springs mid-century modern bedroom, from Met Home

I want to go to there.

It's the Palm Springs house of designer Bill Stewart (of William Stewart Designs), which he remodeled and restored to is original grandeur.

The home was built in 1962 by the Alexander Construction Company, a group of father-and-son real estate developers who put up more than 2,200 modernist tract homes in Palm Springs between 1947 and 1965.

Like all Alexander houses, this one was designed for a real working family to enjoy indoor/outdoor living, and the bedroom's sliding glass doors open out directly to the backyard.

The sheer drapes and quilted bedcover were custom-made from 'Ambrosia Rose,' a vintage David Hicks design produced by Lee Jofa.

The wallpaper is from Modern Homes (psmodhome.com). The contemporary yellow-and-green lacquered platform bed is by Cappellini; the vintage blond wood console with iron handles was designed by Jean Royére.
